Ashley Ahlin, camp director, is the Outreach Coordinator for the MSU Mathematics Department. She earned her Ph.D. in mathematics at the University of Chicago, and has taught at the University of Chicago, the Maine School of Science and Mathematics, Vanderbilt University, and online for the Davidson Institute and the Art of Problem Solving. Locally, she started the East Lansing Elementary Math Circle in 2010, and supervises the East Lansing Middle Grades Math Circle.
|Luke Tunstall, is a first-year PhD student in mathematics education at Michigan State University. His research interests include quantitative literacy (QL) at the post-secondary level, and in particular, curriculum and discourse that promote QL. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics from UNC Chapel-Hill and Appalachian State University, respectively. Luke has taught for Duke TiP's summer programs, and looks forward to building on those experiences to foster engaging afternoons of statistics this summer.|
